Moving labor across Chicago and the suburbs around it
Packed Moving Solutions is based in Elmwood Park and supplies the crew, not the truck. Book movers for loading and unloading a rental truck or a storage unit, for U-Box delivery and loading, for a PODS, PackRat, U-Pack or rented trailer in the driveway, for a load heading out of state, or for packing and unpacking the rooms you would rather not face. Every load is filled tight enough that the space you paid for is the space you use. We cover the city, Logan Square and Wicker Park through Hyde Park and Rogers Park, plus Oak Park and Franklin Park, Evanston and Skokie, Berwyn and Cicero, Schaumburg, Des Plaines, Park Ridge and the O'Hare area, and out past Addison as far as Naperville and Elgin. See the towns we serve.

Four steps, one crew, no surprises at the door
The same four stages whether you rented the truck or had a container dropped at the curb.
-
Free quote
Call or send the form with what is in the house, where it is going, and the floor and parking at both ends. You get a number back.
-
Wrap and protect
Furniture gets blanket-wrapped before it goes near a doorway, floors and doorways get guarded, and anything you want packed gets packed.
-
Load it tight
Into the U-Box, POD, U-Pack trailer or rental truck you booked, stacked so the space you paid for is the space you use.
-
Placed and rebuilt
Furniture lands in the room you point at, whatever came apart goes back together, and the hardware is still taped to the piece it came off.

What your move costs depends on the job
We price each move on the call rather than off a rate card, because a one-bedroom with an elevator and a one-bedroom up three flights are not the same job. Here is what we ask about, and what gets quoted on its own.
How the quote happens
Two minutes on the phone, and nothing to sign
Call +1 (773) 837-6739 or send the quote form. Tell us what is in the house, where it is going, and the floor and the parking at both ends. Those few questions take about two minutes out loud and much longer by email, which is why we would rather talk.
You leave the call with a date, an arrival window and a crew size, and there is nothing to sign to get one.
Four things set the price: how many items you have, how big a crew the job needs, how far apart the two addresses are, and the access at each end, meaning stairs, elevators and how close a truck can park. Tell us those on the phone and you get a number, not a range. There is no travel charge in our core area, which is Chicago and the suburbs right around Elmwood Park; the extended towns further out carry a travel rate on top of the labor rate, and your quote shows it before you book.
Quoted on their own
We don't pad everybody's number to cover the occasional piano or third-floor walk-up. These come up in the quote when they come up at all, and they are named before the crew starts.
-
Stairs and walk-ups
Quoted with your moveTell us the floor and whether the building has an elevator when you call. Stairs change how long a job takes, so they belong in the quote, not on the invoice afterwards.
-
Long carry from the truck
Quoted with your moveSome Elmwood Park and Oak Park blocks have no curb space out front. If the carry is long, we say so up front and plan the route in and out before the day.
-
Pianos, safes, pool tables, hot tubs
Quoted per itemHeavy and awkward pieces are priced item by item, once we know the model, the weight and the path in and out. You hear the number before we lift anything.
-
Boxes, wrap and tape
Quoted with your moveDollies, ratchet straps, blankets and hand tools ride along on every job. Shrink wrap and mattress bags come on request. Ask when you book and they will be on the truck.
You control more of the number than you think. Pack the boxes yourself, take a mid-week date, or book two movers for the container instead of a full crew for the house.

Crew Lead Kendrick was a magician at stacking all our boxes/furniture to the ceiling of the trailer, filling just about a third of it! … They even fit in my partner's motorcycle! Crew members Devante and Carlos were friendly and hard-working.
James and Davonte were fantastic … packed PODS like magicians.
Finished the move in estimated 2 hours despite pouring rain … reassembled bed and placed items in rooms.
Knowledgeable, thoughtful about unpacking, carefully disassembled furniture.
Jermaine and Kendrick worked efficiently in 90+ degree heat and finished ahead of schedule.
I needed somewhat last minute help moving from one unit in my building to another … extremely efficient in moving everything in less than 2 hours … used the extra time we had to unbox and build my large new couch.
We hired Packed Moving via UHaul to help us with our cross-country move and they did great. The crew of 4 wrapped our furniture carefully and safely … Well worth the price.
Found Packed through UHaul and thankful I found them! … David was really helpful walking me through it prior to the move. … Aaron, Mike, and Tony, thank you so much!

About Packed Moving Solutions
Moving labor built on careful work
Packed Moving Solutions works out of Elmwood Park and covers Chicago and the suburbs around it, from Logan Square and Lincoln Park through Oak Park, Evanston and Schaumburg out to Addison and Naperville. Owner David Martinez still runs jobs alongside the crew, which is why the same handful of movers show up in review after review by name.
That experience is the difference between a crew that carries boxes and one that knows how to pad a dresser, angle a couch through a tight walk-up stairwell, and put a bed back together so it feels solid again. We load home and office moves, pack the rooms you hand us, take furniture apart and put it back together, and supply the hourly moving labor that fills a rented truck or a container at the curb.
-
Containers packed tight
PODS, U-Box and rental trailers loaded to use every inch, so nothing shifts on the road and you are not paying for empty space.
-
Everything padded & protected
Furniture blanket-wrapped, floors and doorways guarded, boxes stacked the right way. Care is the default, not an upgrade.
-
Coverage explained up front
We walk you through what is covered and what is not before the crew arrives, so nothing about the cover is a surprise on move day.
-
Free, honest quotes
Clear numbers with no pressure and no surprises. We ask the right questions up front so the price holds.
-
The same movers, by name
Kendrick, Devante, Carlos, James and Davonte all turn up by name in the reviews. It is a small crew, not a rota of strangers.
-
A plan before the truck arrives
Parking, elevators and the building move-in window get sorted while we quote, so nothing stops the crew at your door.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are your moving quotes free? ⌄
Yes. Every quote is free and there is nothing to sign to get one. Call (773) 837-6739 or send the form, tell us what is in the house, where it is going and what the access looks like at both ends, and you get a number back.
What determines the cost of my move? ⌄
The cost comes down to four things: how many items you have, how big a crew the job needs, how far apart the two addresses are, and the access at each end, meaning stairs, elevators and how close a truck can park. Nothing else moves the number much. We ask about all four on the first call, which is why the quote holds.
Will the price change on move day? ⌄
The price changes only if the move changes. If a room gets added, the truck cannot park where you said it could, or the elevator is out and everything is coming down five flights, we stop and tell you what that means before we keep going.
Do you charge a travel fee or a fee for materials? ⌄
Travel depends on where you are. Chicago and the suburbs right around our Elmwood Park base are our core area, and there is no travel charge inside it. Further out, in the extended towns such as Naperville, Wheaton, Aurora, Elgin, Crystal Lake and Bolingbrook, a travel rate is added on top of the labor rate, and your quote shows it before you book anything. Materials depend on the job, so ask when you call. Dollies, ratchet straps, blankets and hand tools ride along on every move at no extra charge.
Can you work with my budget? ⌄
Usually, and you control more of it than you think. Pack the boxes yourself and hand us the furniture, take a mid-week date instead of the last Saturday of the month, or book two movers for the container rather than a full crew for the house. Tell us the number you have in mind and we will say what fits inside it.
How far ahead should I book my move? ⌄
Book as soon as your date is firm. Two to four weeks of notice is comfortable for most moves, and the last few days of the month go first because that is when leases turn over. If you have less notice than that, call anyway.
Do you do same-day and last-minute moves? ⌄
Yes. Same-day and last-minute work is a real part of what we do, and people book it every week. Availability depends on what is already on the board that morning, so call rather than email and we will tell you straight away whether there is a crew.
How do I book a crew? ⌄
Call (773) 837-6739 or send the quote form, and one conversation usually does it. We would rather talk, because the handful of questions that decide crew size take about two minutes out loud and much longer by email. You leave the call with a date, an arrival window and a crew size.
What if my closing date or lease changes? ⌄
Closing dates and leases move constantly, so tell us the moment you know and we will look at the calendar together. Changing the date is far easier than changing the crew size at 8am on moving morning.
Do you work weekends and evenings? ⌄
Weekends are our busiest days, and evenings are normal for office work, so both are available. Our hours are Monday to Saturday, 8am to 6pm, and Sunday, 8am to 2pm. Saturdays at the end of the month book out furthest ahead.
Will you wrap and protect my furniture? ⌄
Yes. Furniture gets blanket-wrapped before it goes near a doorway, and shrink wrap and mattress bags come on request, so say the word when you book. Every crew carries dollies, ratchet straps, blankets and hand tools as standard.
Do you take furniture apart and put it back together? ⌄
Yes, and it is part of the job rather than a line item bolted on afterwards. Beds, tables, wardrobes and flat-pack pieces come apart before they load and go back up at the other end, with the hardware bagged and taped to the piece it came off.
What should I do before the crew arrives? ⌄
Have boxes sealed and labeled by room, set aside whatever you are carrying in your own car, and clear a path to the door. If your building needs the elevator reserved, or your village needs a parking permit for a truck out front, arrange that a few days ahead. Point as we come through the door and furniture lands in the room you want.
What happens if something gets damaged? ⌄
Tell us the same day, with photos if you have them, and we deal with you directly rather than sending you into a queue.
Are there things you will not move? ⌄
We will not carry hazardous items such as propane tanks, gasoline or open chemicals, and we ask you to carry documents, cash and jewelry yourself. Anything unusual, a fish tank or a grandfather clock say, is worth mentioning when you book so the right crew and the right kit turn up.
Do you offer packing and unpacking services? ⌄
Yes, and you can take as much or as little of it as you want. Some customers book a full pack, more book the kitchen and the closets only, and plenty pack everything themselves and hand us the furniture. If we are packing for you the materials come with us, and if you are packing yourself, ask when you book and we will bring what you need.
What does a labor-only booking actually include? ⌄
Labor-only means you supply the vehicle and we supply the crew. You rent the truck, or a U-Box, PODS or PACK-RAT container lands at the curb, and two or more movers wrap it, carry it and stack it, at one end or both. Dollies, blankets, straps and hand tools come with them, and taking furniture apart and rebuilding it is included. The driving stays with you or with the rental company.
Can you load a PODS, U-Box, PackRat or U-Pack container? ⌄
Yes, portable containers are the single biggest part of what we do. PODS, 1-800-PACK-RAT, Zippy Shell, U-Box, ABF U-Pack ReloCubes and U-Pack trailers are all everyday work, along with rented trucks and trailers from U-Haul, Penske or a local yard. You rent the box in your own name and we bring the crew that fills or empties it.
Can you move things inside the same building? ⌄
Yes, and in-building moves are usually quick. One customer moved from one unit to another in her building and the crew had everything across in under two hours, then used the spare time to unbox and build a new couch. Book it like any other job and tell us both unit numbers.
Can you move a piano, a pool table or a safe? ⌄
Yes. Pianos, pool tables, hot tubs and gun safes are a regular line of work, quoted item by item rather than by the hour. Send the model, a rough weight and a photo of the path in and out, and you get the price before anybody lifts.
Can you deliver a U-Box container to my address? ⌄
Yes. We collect the trailer at the U-Haul center, tow your reserved U-Box to your address, load or unload it there and return the empty trailer. You never have to hitch anything to your own vehicle. If your street or building will not take a trailer, we load at the center instead.
How do you fit a whole home into one container? ⌄
By using the height. Furniture is blanket-wrapped and stood on edge, a flat wall gets built front to back at ceiling height, gaps are filled with soft goods and every layer is strapped before the next one starts. One reviewer watched a crew fill about a third of a trailer with a full household and a motorcycle. We have no container to rent you, so if your list genuinely needs a second box we will say so on the phone.
Who is Packed Moving Solutions? ⌄
Packed Moving Solutions is a labor-only moving company based in Elmwood Park, Illinois, run by owner David Martinez. You rent the truck or the container and our crews do the carrying: loading and unloading, U-Box delivery, container work, packing, staging, events, freight and heavy equipment across Chicago and the suburbs around it. It is a service-area business with no storefront to visit, so the phone is the front door.
What areas do you serve? ⌄
Chicago and the suburbs around it, out of Elmwood Park. The core area is the city itself, Logan Square and Wicker Park through Lincoln Park, Lakeview, the West Loop, Pilsen, Hyde Park and Rogers Park; the near west at Elmwood Park, Oak Park, Franklin Park, Melrose Park and Norridge; the north suburbs at Evanston, Skokie, Niles, Morton Grove and Lincolnwood; the northwest suburbs including Schaumburg, Des Plaines, Elk Grove Village, Park Ridge and the O'Hare area; Berwyn, Oak Lawn and Cicero; and Addison on the DuPage edge. There is no travel charge inside that ring. We also go further out to Naperville, Wheaton, Aurora, Elgin, Itasca, Roselle, Bloomingdale, Crystal Lake and Bolingbrook, where a travel rate is added on top of the labor rate. If your town sits outside all of that, ask us anyway.
Do you handle long-distance and out-of-state moves? ⌄
Yes, as labor. Out-of-state work comes through regularly and it almost always runs the same way: we load the trailer, container or rented truck here, and you or your carrier drives it. Packed does not carry goods between addresses, so book us for the load in Elmwood Park and a crew at the far end for the unload. Call with the origin, the destination and the date and we will tell you what shape the job should take.
Do you offer military or senior discounts? ⌄
Yes, there is a military discount and a senior discount. Mention it while we are quoting so it lands in the number instead of being argued about afterwards.
What do customers say about Packed? ⌄
Google shows 4.8 stars across 70 reviews. HireAHelper shows 4.8 across 432, Thumbtack 4.7 across 131, and there are roughly 2,000 reviews on U-Haul Moving Help, which is where most of our work comes from. The Better Business Bureau rates the business A+. Packed is Black-owned, veteran-owned and Latino-owned, and the Google Business Profile lists it as LGBTQ+ friendly.
